November 11, 2018 - Looks like this is a love/hate wine.
Good clarity, medium straw color.
Petrol up front on the nose. Some mineral, and pear coming through. Maybe a touch of vanilla, but so subtle could be my imagination.
Big puckering lemon on the attack with mineral/stone around the edges. Surprisingly low sugar for a riesling. Mouthfeel is tough to describe. Puckering is about all I can come up with.
Mellows significantly after the attack. Nice long dry finish.
Definitely a food wine. Not something I'd just open and drink. I'm thinking Indian, or hot and spicy food would be a perfect pairing here. I would avoid Korean food - too much acid for pickled vegetables! I dare say I'd be willing to try Mexican food with this wine.2 people found this helpful 1,737 views

11/11/18, 4:09 PM - Nice TN! :) As for your comments re "low sugar" & "puckering", the stats I've seen for this wine are: TA 7.82 g/l, RS 2.4 g/l, & pH 3.09, which would explain both your descriptors.
Based upon having been to a Trimbach trade luncheon decades ago -- & GLOWING review by Jancis Robinson, I purchased 4 of these w/o tasting, something I virtually NEVER do. Right now they're not even on my radar to open -- particularly since the relatives who'll drink them with me *don't* share the same appreciation of HIGH acidity as I.
