Youthful, pale lime green color. Youthful nose with sappy fruit aromas of apple peel, some fresh white fruits, a little bit of herbal spice and hay, a hint of smoke and a nuanced touch of salty liquorice. The wine is medium-bodied, quite ripe and pretty bright, coming across quite Alpine in its (positive) neutrality. There are flavors of tart green apples, stony minerality, some sweeter golden apple tones, a little bit of white peach and an understated hint of honey. Overall the wine feels something not unlike a rather ripe Muscadet. The high acidity lends good freshness and sense of focus to the wine. The finish is ripe, lively and nicely acid-driven with bright, long and mouth-cleansing flavors of honey, some sweet red apples, a little bit of stony minerality, a hint of steely character and a touch of apple peel bitterness.
A very stylish, ripe and harmonious Petite Arvine that feels paradoxically somewhat concentrated yet rather neutral and mineral at the same time. On a superficial glance this is a Muscadet-like, neutral and simple white, but there is so much more underneath the surface. The wine is drinking beautifully right now, but I can see it developing into something even better for many more years. Not cheap at 18€, but delivers for the price. Consistently one of the best Petite Arvines out there.1 person found this helpful 2,108 views
