I’ve always loved the vibrant character of this wine and now it seams that it has gained some complexity as well.
The colour is still medium ruby-red with no signs of ageing yet. Enticing aromas of berry and cherry fruit evolve with leather and smokey notes and hints of chocolate and eucalyptus. Fascinating! It fills the palate fresh fruit and super smooth tannins and great acidity balance. It has great length and echoes of the red fruit that keep on lingering with a spicy undertone.
It’s hard to imagine this wine becoming even better but it certainly has a lot of structure left and will age well for some time to come. Drink now - 2028.
This is probably the best Merlot based wine I’ve ever had.
It is certainly much more lively and complex than the ‘07 and ‘09 Galatrona vintages I’ve had. Probably only the ‘06 comes closest to this one.
