December 1, 2018 - A medium ruby Merlot that was star bright with clear edges. Aromas included caramelized sugar and green bean. It had a medium body, which I found thin for a Merlot. The tannins were medium-minus and quick to dissipate. Acidity was medium-minus, which was acidic enough for balance. The wine had thick, slow legs (14% ABV) and was bone dry. It was a bit spicy on the palate, with plum being the dominant flavour. There was definite oak aging. Overall, this wine was thinner and lighter than I expected it to be. I prefer a fuller-bodied Merlot.
