December 8, 2018 - This is a solid wine that is perfect for everyday drinking. I brought it to a dinner party, and people enjoyed it. It needed an hour decant and was then ready to go. Dark with black and purple coloring. Fruit was primarily blackberry with some blueberry. Smooth with well integrated tannins, and a nice finish of chocolate and cherry cola. It's a unique taste, very well made and over delivers for the price point.

12/8/18, 6:57 AM - Nice note. Interesting that you preferred this wine over the 2016 Becklyn cab. There's a sweetness about both but I found the Swagger's sweet cola profile a little odd. Although my wife and some friends really enjoyed the 2016 Swagger. Take care.

12/8/18, 11:43 AM - yes, our palate is usually similar but I like the cola element. I actually think that Janzen's Cloudy exhibits that a bit sometimes.

12/8/18, 1:14 PM - I don't recall ever noticing the cola profile with the Janzen Cloudy's but it has been a little while. At least I don't recall it being that distinct. The only other cab that I thought it was that distinct was with a Levendi Sweetwater Ranch cab a couple years ago. Nonetheless, I thought the quality of fruit is there with the 2016 Swagger and can more than understand how you enjoyed it more.
