December 18, 2018 - Quite young nose with cherries and forest berries with some flowery notes and hints of undergrowth, compost and animal notes. Medium(-) bodied with tart cherries, forest berries, and some cranberries including a bit of bitterness, noticeable acidity, some minerality, and just a bit of tannins. The aftertaste shows tart berries. Young, should probably be given at least a year or two to settle but has the acidity to age, 88 p.
It is a bit light and non-tannic for a Gevrey-Chambertin, but this was also the case for the 2015, which was more accessible at a corresponding stage. It is pure and fresh, though.1 person found this helpful 2,287 views
