December 15, 2018 - Holiday dinner at Annie Gunn’s. Stole the show. Sent this note to Dave Sokolin to describe.
It was ideal. Coloration was barely waning. A nice dark garnet slightly lighter at the edge. Sexy silky texture, perfect tannin for the age with medium acidity. Nose was cedar, mocha and cigar box. Fruit was ample. I would call it black currant and black raspberry. The thing about the wine was the finish. Easily 1 minute maybe 130. I would give it 100 myself. 2/1/19, 2:48 PM - E....we went to BDX with a French winemaker form Napa in the fall of '17 and did a 5 bottle tasting at a negociant's office, all '96s....Pichon Baron, Pichon Lalande, Cos, Mouton and Latour....each a step up from the last in price and hedonistic pleasure. The Latour was simply orgasmic....til we did the Margaux tasting the next day.....OMG, it should be illegal to make wine that good.
