  December 23, 2018 - This Mencía was a deep purple that glistened a beautiful Ferrari Red when the sun caught it just right. It had aromas of cherty, damp wood or forest, and pepper, with brown sugar dominating late in the glass. It was full-bodied with tannins that lingered. It was peppery with tart cherry on the palate. Although it wasn't complex, it left a long, sweet aftertaste that I enjoyed. It was very good for the $12 CAD price tag and would pair well with a nicely marbled steak. I would buy this again.
