Community Tasting Note

December 29, 2018 - Incredible how fresh and fruit forward this 58 year old gent is. Pure garnet, with an amber, glossy rim and a deep sea of lush red juice that got darker and looked quite healthy and big for its age. Antiqued, musty red fruit, cedar chest, coffee grinds, and dancing violets on the back end with a long fantastic finish. I made the mistake of opening this with an idiot that had no idea what we were drinking, and all he could comment on was how much fruit remained in the wine. Its a shame that this bottle went to waste, but all I could think of was how lucky I was to be drinking this..Drink

Just getting into Bordeaux over the past few years and loving every minute of it. Appreciated the sentiment/note. Just went to UGC event for ‘16s. Seems like a very good year.

Thanks for the comment. Saw a few of your note on the 2016 BDX (Think?)..
As you know, Bordeaux is an allure and its haunting good. Either you get it or you don't...I was lucky. Thank you for your kind understanding :-)

Didn’t have a pen or paper so zero notes but left with the impression ‘16 should be another tremendous year (less New World as compared to the ‘15s but time will tell)... questions is to add more ‘16s or wait for my 2018 tranche...

My one revelation which for a new Bordeaux drinker it might be but not for a seasoned Vet like yourself. Of all the Chateaus I tasted in Bordeaux which there were a fair number, a name I never heard about was one of my hands down favorites- Vieux Chateau Certan. How that is my being talked about with the big boys (first growths and others) is beyond me.

Thank you for your reviews. Appreciated.
