December 30, 2018 - This rich wine from St. Helena towards Calistoga has been, over the coarse of 2018, one of my favorites. I first tasted this at the winery and purchased a few bottles and then continued purchasing a few bottles again and again.

Dark purple in the glass, nice strong smell, has nice legs, fruit are purple and black primarily with noticeable dark chocolate. Really nice graphite and mineral notes throughout, from the 1st sip to the last.
The tannins are perfect and the backbone is all there. This is a full-bodied wine that seems weightless and is also very clear. Thomas Brown has done another great job with a grand cru vineyard in St. Helena. I have noticed that the wines from TRB seem to drink better with a little more bottle age. I probably would have liked this wine upon release, but I love this wine and will seek out more.

This stunning wine is entering a great window so drink up!

12/30/18, 7:14 AM - Nice note. I love the 2015 vintage but apparently I need to seek-out this vintage as well.

12/30/18, 10:24 AM - It's not a Mike Smith wine. But if you like Thomas Brown and enjoyed the '15 Revana, you should love the '13.

12/30/18, 11:05 AM - I was fortunate to find some of the 2015 vintage at $99 from Benchmark Wine. I'll have to grab a bottle of the 2013 vintage. Take care.
