Community Tasting Note

  • logos Likes this wine: 60 points

January 2, 2019 - light all around for a barolo: nose, palate, aftertaste; simple but quite pleasant plummy fruit, short, clean finish. could well improve for a few years.

1/23/19, 8:47 AM - Doesn't sound like a note that would warrant a score of 60 points. The commonly used 100 point system starts with a score of 50, so you have given this wine 10 points out of the possible remaining 50, which would mean this wine is of extremely poor quality.

    1/24/19, 6:44 AM - I use a true 100 pt scale; not a fraudulently labelled 51 pt one; 60s = very good; 70s = excellent

When posting scores in CT you should use that rating scale so as not to create a negative bias in the CT score when you actually find a wine quite drinkable. CT is a community whose collective opinions (the CT ratings) have become internationally accepted as a bona fide rating. Your notes are excellent so it would be nice to have your scores counted accurately therein. Thanks.

2/6/19, 6:36 AM - actually if you read the reviews and scores carefully you'll see that people interpret the ct scale quite differently, so the avg is of little value anyway
