January 2, 2019 - Pale straw-colored. Nice fresh nose, not overly complex but more nose as it warmed up. Racy and acid-driven on the palate. Like a steely premier-cru chablis. Lingering finish. Would have liked a little more cote du beaune. Probably drank too cold, came right out of refrigerator and drank outside on a chilly New Year’s Day. The description on the bottle, “full malolactic fermentation in small French oak barrels”, led me to expect a tad more roundness than it showed. Maybe a bit more time? I enjoyed the 2012 tasted at the winery five years ago very much. The bottle I took home was corked and Bergstrom graciously replaced it with this bottle...bergstrom is by far my favorite Oregon house!
