  January 5, 2019 - Dark garnet red. No decant. Nose of red fruits: raspberry, red cherry, red plum, hint of mocha and dust. High alcohol. Palate is a lot of the same red fruit with almost ancandied aspect. Definitely fruit forward. Only small amount of earth. Medium finish. After 1-2 hours, opened beautifully showing more tertiary notes such as dusty earth/clay, hint of graphite and wonderful floral, perfumed notes. Winemaker is first generation French now living/working in CA. After much aeration, you start to pick up on a more “French” style aspect of this wine, though subtle. Should improve some but would drink in next 4-5 years.
