January 21, 2019 - From a magnum with prime rib and baked potato, color is light purple with a little bricking on the edges, nose is not existent (probably me and my flawed aging senses), on the palate, a sweet attack then some decent layers of fruit, berries and cherries. Should be a bit better but I think age has caught up with it and it was probably better 4-5 years ago. Still the balance and structure make up for some of the fading fruit.

If you were at a restaurant its always a challenge, but at home I always give Montelena Estate Cab’s several hours at least. It makes a huge difference! I’ve learned through experience...been drinking them since the 1974 vintage.

    Cheers!
