  February 24, 2019 - Part of three-bottle vertical of Church & State Quintessential (07/08/09). 2008 is still young with more forward tannins and reserved fruit. Medium-plus body with darker red fruits and some vanilla spice. Colour is a bit tawny (brown-orange on the rim) and really coats the glass. A bit out of balance on its own but benefitted materially with proteins and fat. Paired with grilled rare tomahawk steaks.
