October 26, 2018 - Massive, elegant and truly lovely - are the three words I wrote down when tasting this effort. The 2010 Souteyrades is a totally stunning wine. The nose exhibits classical rich dark Grenache fruit, classy and balanced garrigue, rich deep kirsch and the most adorable sun dried strawberries. This is a nose to die for - found in a Gigondas(!) The palate adds to the overall impression with balance and integration. Tannins are velvety and silky. A brilliant but very elegant acidity puts the final dot over the "i" for me. There certainly is enough texture and structure to have this effort age nicely for many more years, but it drinks superbly tonight too.

3/1/19, 1:24 PM - Agreed! This Gigondas is a life-changer, and stands as one of many great examples that contradict any notion that CdP is a superior appellation, a contention that I have always thought laughable.

Trying to hold my last bottle for several more years.

    Sante!
