March 3, 2019 - Popped and poured into glasses. Just didn’t feel like a fancy decant on what is supposed to be a fairly straightforward wine with some age.

Wine is surprisingly purple and youthful in appearance. Don’t even see any evidence of bricking.

On the nose: mint, anise, bay leaf, olives, cherries, hint of green.

On palate: wine is sound, definitely has some age to it. Medium alcohol, softened tannins, low-medium alcohol, short finish, medium body. Taste is less compelling than smell, as the complexity is subdued. But pretty nice and a good change of pace to have something with some bottle age this weekend.
