March 14, 2019 - Pretty closed off. VA upon opening had me worried, but this blew off with a decant. Typical Levet notes of raspberries and violets with hard brambly and sauvage characteristics. Smoked game and fat notes were more in the background and this was all about lithe-texture and a graceful, lifted frame. The nose was impeccable with air. Strong tannins. A distinct wet dog emerged with a few hours air. Best to give this some years before opening another.
