March 18, 2019 - Decanted at 5:30pm, brought to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner at Quality Italian and enjoyed from 8:30 onward. This showed very well. Smooth, balanced, nothing sticking out, red and dark fruits on the palate, Sangio spices and dried herbs, maybe a touch of cedary spice, lovely acidity, nicely cohesive, it seems somewhat compact yet at the same time, radiating flavors and nuances. This was a big hit at the dinner. I brought a bottle of the '08 to Racines in the spring of 2016 and it was closed up tight. Tonight's bottle is singing, not loudly, but prettily.
