March 24, 2019 - Ruby with relatively thin rim variation given the age of the wine. Medium to a bit faster legs. Aromas and flavors are distinctly red fruit:strawberry, raspberry, a bit of cranberry, as well as hints of dust, and light toast. Minimal black olive, green olive and bell pepper also there as the wine opened up in the glass. On days 2 & 3, some vanilla, nutmeg and allspice entered the picture. Medium body and finish. Texture is primarily silky but also smooth. Finish is medium, acidity is low. Impression: balanced, varietally correct and nicely aged. Clearly evolved over a few days. At $14, QPR is average. Either at or just past prime. Drink now.
