April 11, 2019 - From Coravin so it did not get a decant, which it would surely have benefitted from. This wine is dark, but not brooding. Quite tho opposite, it is concentrated and vibrant, quite primary at this stage. The tannins are very present but also fine and very well integrated. It is young with pronounced acidity and I understand people who say this is not at all classic Bordeaux. In fact, it has a lot in common with great Riojas I feel. But if you lower the temperature, I enjoyed it outside and the English spring is still not far advanced, the Bordeaux characteristics come through better at 16 degrees. I love it either way.
