  April 15, 2019 - Very opaque dark red black color. Black fruit, oak and peppery nose. Full bodied, rich fruit initially with quite strong tannins coming thru early to the finish. My impression is this needs more time in the bottle to mellow those tannins. This wine was compared in a tasting with wines from The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater where the Syrahs are know for "funk" and often light colors. This wine was a big contrast from those even it is also from a stony vineyard. Interesting comparison!
