  May 2, 2019 - Probably the first bonafide misfire I've ever had from Foillard, and that's saying something. Candied to the point of almost syrupy on opening, with a jam-like sweetness and nothing resembling freshness. Tiring to drink, even with a hearty meal, I stuffed a cork in it after one glass. On the second night, it seemed to have settled down a bit and some earthiness and funky spice showed through to give it some character, but it never really gained any focus. Major bummer.
