May 25, 2019 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with wide fading rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of raspberry and cherries, sweet spice of clove, mineral notes of earth, floral notes of violet, oak notes of toast, maturity notes of forest floor, dairy notes of cream. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (-) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol and medium (-) body, with medium flavours of red fruit of raspberry, plum and cherries, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of mocha. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Vosne Romanee with a fairly intense nose showing good complexity, the wine has good balance, demonstrating with finesse on a reasonably concentrated palate with good length on the finish. It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.
