May 25, 2019 - Opened -2 hrs and decanted prior to serving. This showed clear, medium density and just the mildest touch of bricking. Nose of savoury, herb and black fruit of medium intensity. In the mouth this was very a clean, well balanced wine, no heat, no greenness but pure mid weight black fruit supplemented by herb and fennel notes. At the back was a touch of aromatic wood, maybe unlit cigar. Tannins very fine and integrated with the wine. All kept in marvellous order by a necessary but unobtrusive acidity. I think i was expecting something a bit unbalanced, hot maybe but it was a very fine medium weight Wine with a long and pleasing finish. Wine evolved over 90 mins to become more savoury, less fruity. I think this was at or close to peak. A triumph.
