May 25, 2019 - Still having a difficulty getting past the 14.5% alc and its definitely noticeable for me so may be higher than stated. If it had more lift that would certainly help too. Good material otherwise but not energetic enough for my liking. Then again, there are very few btls of CDP I still enjoy. Paired with rubbed ribs tonight.

5/27/19, 2:39 PM - Would you say the wine has entered its drinking window?

5/27/19, 3:00 PM - Yes, I would. For my palate, I don't see it improving. For me it feels weighty and in need of more lift and less Alc. The Alc on modern CDP is a major problem, for my palate. There are many folks though who will love this wine and think of many of my favs are thin :).

Definitely have had more enjoyable experiences with the 04s and 06 VT. Both in the less heralded and "thinner" vintages. :) I'm not giving up on the 05s just yet though.
