May 27, 2019 - First one of these in almost three years. No longer a tannic monolith, it is now finally mature. Still needs at least one hour of air to open up. Absolutely bone dry on the front-palate, but fleshes out nicely on the mid-palate, where its ripe cherry and raspberry fruit gradually emerge. Finishes very long and complex, with lingering notes of oak, tar, menthol and black licorice. Still slightly chewy, but the tannins have integrated very well. A wonderful Barbaresco that paired beautifully with our ribeye steaks.
