  June 1, 2019 - Solid. Very sweet cherry and cheesecake in the nose with good amounts of vanilla and oak treatment but for God’s sake people, this is rioja and this is Spain! Rather light to medium bodied on more morello cherry notes with a very acidity and chunky tannins that indicate more bottle time is needed. I’ve had the 1964 and the 1970(phenomenal) and the 1994 and 2005 vintages which admittedly were all superior to this vintage but nevertheless it still remains a very good vintage at a good price of $28 at the SAQ. Long finish. Will develop nicely in the next 5-7 years.
