June 8, 2019 - Nahe^3: 10 vintages of Halenberg, Hermannshöhle and Felseneck + X (@Private location, Frankfurt): *** brief note from an extensive tasting ***
    Glass: Gabriel Gold
Decanted about 30min before. Clear, medium, glowing ruby-garnet color. Clean, medium intense and youthful nose with lots of wild strawberries, some floral notes and some fresh roses. Round, soft and nice, but still lacks the complexity of great, ripe Barolo.
On the palate it has everything a great Barolo needs: High, ripe and well-integrated acidity, medium+ ripe, not fully integrated tannin. Very elegant and round, beautiful texture. Lots of wild strawberries, only a hint of oak, some herbs and extract sweetness. Drinks nicely now, very approachable. But for me still far away from the deep complexity of great Baroli. But it has all it takes. Will try my first bottle in about 10+ years time 92-93++

6/9/19, 9:18 AM - Thanks for the great note and thoughts on this wine. This was the last vintage I bought of this particular vineyard. Mainly because the price had jumped to me from $58 to $110 in one vintage. Nuts! The market is crazed over this particular top end Burlotto. Fine, I'm delighted to keep buying and drinking the more classic and super value, straight Barolo. I still need to open my first 2013 Monvigliero. it sounds like it doesn't need a ton of air.

6/20/19, 9:39 PM - The prices of the 2013 went nuts after Galloni gave it 100 points. Still one of the better QPRs in Barolo imo.
