June 16, 2019 - Complex aromas of rose petals, blueberries, tobacco, eucalyptus, licorice and some light overtones of cedar. On the palate, not as overtly open and fruit driven as the 2015, but shows the same unbelievably purity and superior focus. Medium to full bodied, showing lots of black cherry fruit laced with extremely fine grained but prominent tannins and loads of complex mineral driven flavors. Structured and ready for many years in the cellar, it finishes long and super fresh. A very nuanced wine and much more feminine than most from the valley floor in St Helena. It is coiled up at present but promises to age extremely well.

5/24/21, 10:09 PM - Cristal2000, need your advice. Celebrating my in laws big anniversary and they are big Spottswoode fans. I want to bring 2 bottles. I’m bringing an 07 and need help with what would be a good vintage to pair. I have 10, 12-17. I know you have tried them all, so need your opinion. Should I go with the 10 or go for a more recent vintage drinking well like the 15?

5/25/21, 11:56 AM - I'd say the 15 vintage is the most like the 07. So if you are going for some form of comparison, tasting a more aged version of a more fruit forward vintage beside a younger one, that would be most appropriate. If just going for a rocking vintage, although much different, the 10 is fabulous. Sounds fun! Cheers.

6/1/21, 9:58 PM - Thanks for the advice. Going to take your suggestion and go 07 and 15. What amount of decanting do you recommend for each of those?
