Community Tasting Note

June 19, 2019 - Approaching fifteen years old this wine is an absolute stunner with a ripe yet elegant style. Subtle aromatics including notes of slate, wild berries, black cherries, and ruby grapefruit. The palate is so balanced and succulent with ripe yet bright fruits, supple tannins, and beautiful fruit complexity. I am surprised with the fruit in this wine, I think the stems and ripeness are a perfect foil for each other. An amazing wine from a transition period at Copain that truly delivers. One of the greatest new world Syrahs I have had.
