June 24, 2019 - I'll add my name to the list of people who (a) drank this too early and (b) thought it was amazing. For what it's worth, I'm offering my opinion as of right now - my predictions are worth what you pay for them, and it's easier for me to assess the present day. And, today, I think this is a fantastic wine.

Inky purple in color and full in body, the wine offers captivating aromas of blueberry, menthol, licorice, and espresso grinds, with a hint of fresh flowers and herbs. The tastes are concentrated and layered, with notes of boysenberry, black cherry, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and anise, with a silky and lingering finish. 14.9% alcohol. If you wait a few years, this has the potential to get even better.

At the moment, this needs about two hours for the fruit and alcohol to integrate, since blarmston is correct about the heat in the early going. With air, this became a seamless, bursting, dense, and balanced wine. This had similar power as a 2016 Carter La Bam I had a few nights ago, but the VV has far more grace and restraint (read: ripe but not blowsy, still maintaining a touch of precision). This is a completely delicious wine, and - if you have more than one bottle - it's absolutely worth opening. Carpe diem, all that.

6/25/19, 11:03 AM - thanks for the shout out.

I am looking forward to seeing how this evolves over the next 5+ years (if I can keep my hands off my remaining three bottles, of course...)
