July 11, 2019 - [Magnum] This nose is massively fruity with bright raspberry and blueberry. Very playful primary aromatics. I don’t see the bubblegum people use to describe Beaujolais, this is all fruit punch right now, and without any earth tones or secondary development either. A hint of greenness that could be stems. Lots of fun on the nose. On the palate this is straightforwardly delicious, easygoing, bang of fruit punch up front with surprising staying power. Some tartness to the raspberry. Surprisingly weighty mid palate and powerful finish. Still stylistically lighter than anything I could compare to. Good and a lot of fun. Is all Beaujolais like this?

Very warm and ripe year with elevated alcohol levels. Otherwise, 2014, 2016, 2017 are all quite nice.
