July 12, 2019 - Had the 2017 at the Chambers/Dressner event and I liked it so I decided to try a bottle and ended up with the 18. Classic French Chardonnay nose - some toasty oak, wet stones and some metal/flint, brown spices or matchstick , orchard fruit pit, green grass, some green apple and lemon. Palate is tart with lemon and a touch bitter, stones and minerals. Good flavor and nice acid to make it somewhat lip smacking. It’s light to medium bodied- not the grippiest but that’s to be expected at the level. Finish is tart and soft and pretty short. A little bitter - showing lemon and minerals and stone fruit pit. Is this the best Chardonnay ive ever had?Not even close. Did I enjoy this more than some 03 1er and grand crus? Yup. Can I find this easily for under $15? Yes. At that price, this is really impressive. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 14/20.
