  July 20, 2019 - Popped and poured in anticipation of an upcoming Washington trip. This is a medium-red wine with virtually no sediment throughout the bottle. The nose is potent! I get smoke, meat, brine, and some general animal smells. This continues on a mid-weight mouth that is smoky and salty, with a hint of modest red fruit buried beneath the corpse. The finish continues the overarching theme, with ash, salt, and blood lingering. Overall, I found this to be less of a wine and more of a food. This is highly unique and the sensations throughout are almost too much, but it holds the line at the right places. I think it is a fascinating and satisfying experience. But that may be a minority view. 92 points.
