    July 22, 2019 - From a 375ml with some foie gras (de canard :-( )

On first opening the nose is quite striking: fruit but perhaps even a whiff of paint thinner (!). But after a few minutes that burns off and there is tropical fruit, which continues through to the wonderfully balanced palate. There is sweetness, fruit (pineapple, perhaps papaya) in abundance, but also just the right amount of acidity so that it isn't cloying and complements the foie nicely.

The finish is quite long, with a little bite but also some sweetness.

EDIT (21/11/2019): I'm enjoying another 375ml (after a 15 minute decant) with a "Terrine de canard au poivre vert". This bottle seems a little darker in colour and a bit less sweet on the palate, but it is complementing the terrine beautifully - I've never drunk sweet wine with peppers before but this really works!
