  August 3, 2019 - Dark crimson color receiving notable gradients of orange rust toward the rim due to its age. It required at least 30 minutes of decanting for the nose to open up revealing dried herbs, tobacco and forest floor amidst the black fruits. The palate is massive, and intensifies toward the mid palate revealing darkened cherries, raspberry, cranberry and smoked meat. The 15% Cabernet Sauvignon could easily be mistaken for Cabernet Franc due to its fleshy mouthfeel, but definitely noticeable that this is a Tempranillo blend. The tannins elegantly negotiate the long, long dusty finish. First growth indeed. Drink now with a 45-mintute decant until 2030.
