August 4, 2019 - My bottle. Older. Some oxidation but we think that's just 19 years on, not premox. Butter and some spicy oak. Touch of caramel, some spice and apple and a squirt of lemon. Palate shows some age old oak but till has good acid and grip. Lots of lemon and gras. Bitter Lemon spice and oak finish. Big grippy finish that does fan out and fill the mouth. This is a thick style of Batard - fat and rich and maybe a touch heavy. It does show some Grand Cru depth at points. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16-16.5/20.
