August 16, 2019 - Deep ruby red with medium plus optical density and medium plus reflectivity (mostly specular in nature). Aromas are strong and delightful- cherry, bright cola spice, moist soil, and some herb-infused gravel. On palate, medium body, good refreshing acidity (short of bracing, but very vibrant!), and firm tannins in the background. Density is medium and concentration is moreso, but not a complex concentration, more of a simple flavour concentration). Texture is not sappy, but juicy and electrical. Flavours of packed red cherries on the attack, with some juicy tobacco and herbal earthiness coming on after the intense fruit. The midpalate is nice, and as it begins to fade, picks up some tobacco leaf and light smokey notes toward, with a final transition back to bright red fruits. Medium length, and high intensity throughout.

Complexity is not high here, but there is a lot to like. Very vibrant, fresh, and easy-going, this is a really nice wine. Lacks a bit of depth, but at least this isn't sacrificed to over-ripeness. A fun, easy, and honest drink!
