August 17, 2019 - Deep burgundy red with medium minus optical density and very high specular reflectivity. Very light bricking on the rim. Aromas are nice and appealing, with roses, cherry pit, tar, and some light and delicate florals. Very intense nose, with medium complexity. Light on body and with very fresh acidity. Tannins are firm and drying, for a texture that is juicy but with lots of grip. Flavours of bright cherries and spices roses on the attack. The midpalate stays with fruit, and adds on some tarry tobacco and spices, along with some rose pedals, sage, and zesty soil. The finish is of dried leather, and has decent length.

Overall, a simple but delicious wine that shows an excellent entry-level Barolo. Not a ton of depth and complexity, but a vibrant, aromatic, and delicious serious red. Light in body and yet big on flavours and tannins, for a juicy wine with bite. Yet, in all this, still elegant and graceful, and traditional in style. This is definitely enjoyable now, which is great, but also would seem to have potential for several years in the cellar. Very ecellent value, in a stye of wine that I really like- lets the region and variety come through, and while there aren't tons of deep nuances, there is enough here to contemplate and delight as it sits in the glass. Well done!
