September 1, 2019 - From an excellent looking bottle with a fill just into the neck, this wine had a deep red center and oranging rims. The high- intensity nose of black cherries, plums, pine, tan spices, violets, and minerals.

In the mouth, this wine was quite firm and structured at first with great length and acidity. It became juicier and more attractive after hours in the decanter. However, it remained somewhat tannic unless consumed with food. The rich texture and firm tannin gave the wine a 3 dimensional texture in your mouth.

I made a mistake with this wine. I should have opened it at breakfast instead of 1 PM. It was still stunning. This will only improve with time in the cellar. Do not hesitate to give it 12 hours of air before you start drinking it. My guess is the tannins with increase for the first 6-7 hours and then slowly decrease. I believe there are a couple points of upside either with cellar aging or proper decanting.
