September 22, 2019 - Deep ruby with a garnet rim, this wine had aromas of blackberry, tomato, mild black pepper, oak, leather, and chocolate. Acidity and tannins were medium and alcohol was absent, with bold body and a long finish. Flavours were of blueberry, leather, oak, and a hint of cola.

The oak and leather remain on the palate for 30 seconds or more. A developing complexity would give this a higher score. The tannins are nice but could stand to smooth out a bit. The wine was great now but is only going to improve over the next 2-5 years.

9/27/19, 4:51 PM - Many thanks for your insight, Geoff. Nice to hear there is leather already on the nose...surprised by the alcohol being absent.

You have given me confidence for this vintage lasting into 2021.
