September 29, 2019 - My expectation for this bottle was simply too high maybe? The last bottle of 6 and still very (very) enjoyable but a couple of years ago the same wine was just so spectacular at all angles that unconsciously my expectation was just about or near perfect bottle of wine. Well, it really had every quality that one wishes to have, Beautiful aromas of mature fruits, orange peel, honeyed texture as well as flavors, right tanginess to remind of grapefruit and brioche etc... but that last 2% of backbone energy which lifts the whole thing up to heaven was gone... sadly. I am a bit afraid to post this as it may very well be different with another bottle and I do hope for those who still have some left at their cellars. This is a wonderful and delicious wine, but lacking the great and distinguished profile and dignity that it was shining with. And that is what wine and its infinitely interesting world is about; no two bottles will be the same after 10 years. Cheers.
