October 4, 2019 - A few years since my previous bottle.... still opaque but offering a few secondary notes nicely balancing the fruit. Again that bouquet is superb. White truffles, mulberries, cigar, strawberries and tar. Quite sit-up-and-pay-attention really.

Less aggressive than last tried, and I'm more confident about a suggestion of early-drinkability for this now. A very firm body wrapped in graphite and truffley dark fruit compote at the middle, with some smokey meat perhaps: make no mistake this is a serious and stern wine. Dry, persistent and magisterial. Excellent.

Good for the first 2 hours or so and then went into a bit of a sulk as the fruit receded and the wine got a bit unfriendly. However, a large glassful left 24 hours in the bottle was showing no worse for wear the following evening, actually regaining the fruit and balance then. You wouldn't hurt with with a 24h decant. Ageing for decades ahead of this one.
