October 10, 2019 - Unbelievable but only dropped 1 point my rating in 2008. This was my last bottle of this wine and it was just as good, well very close to just as good.

Opened and decanted for 30 minutes. For older wines like this I prefer a shorter decant since they have been exposed to some oxidation over the last 20 years.

Dark purple with no visible bricking and minimal sediment. The nose was beautiful with dark fruits, cedar box, hints of prune and some light oak.

The palate still had some grippy tannin but fresh and soft flavors of black cherry, blueberry, tobacco and cedar. This guy is mouth filling with its full body yet gentle with a nice finish.

Just 1 notch below the wine it was 6 years ago but WOW it still delivers!!
