  October 16, 2019 - A fascinating combination of fruit and oxidative notes. Medium + acidity, accentuated by the oxidative element. Ripe fine quite light tannins, mid weight body and alcohol, though it is 13.5%, so either overstated or the nature of the wine integrates the alcohol really well.
  Fruit notes are: blackberry, damson,morello and sour cherry, with a hint of sharp red-currant. I think the fruit will fade so would drink now - but I am no expert on traditional Rioja's.
  Overall an interesting rather than instantly appealing wine.
