October 24, 2019 - wow... the first of six bottles, and this thing is WOW!!... super young, with massive lift and tension... saw a note mentioning butterscotch (which makes me think premox) but this one was high and tight with loads of acidity, minerals and lemons... just what we like... perhaps time to buy another 6 or 12... I've been pleasantly surprised at the zero premox rate on W. Fevre I've had recently (tho truth be told, I don't let them get past 8 years or so)

10/24/19, 4:17 PM - I mentioned butterscotch but there was nothing that indicated premox, which for me is more apple. I loved the wine. Butterscotch is something I get from young white Burgs, but not Chablis, and that’s why I mentioned it.

10/24/19, 5:21 PM - Thanks Diane (LI) for the clarification... I'll look for the butterscotch you described in my next bottle!... my wife and I get bummed when we taste smoke and/or caramel (especially)... which is what we think of as premox

10/25/19, 3:24 AM - Hi! Great note. Look forward to drinking this.

Smoke is not what I associate with premox. Many white burgs, including Chablis, have a smoky, gunmetal note, that I absolutely adore. I recently had two bottles of this wine, 2008 vintage, side by side. one was fresh as a Daisy, the other celarly poxed. The big difference was the intensity of the fruit (in the good bottle) and the notes of old, spoiled nuts, bruised winter apples and the overall sherry character (bad sherry!) of the poxed one.
