  October 27, 2019 - We tasted just about every 2015 and most 2016 SG reds at a visit to the winery. The lineup is incredibly strong, with a consistent house style of clean, stylish, balanced wines which are fruity yet not overripe or overoaked. For my money, the “basic” Napa bottling is the one to take home. As good as the single vineyard offerings for almost half the price. I was surprised that the American oak used here (vs French in the higher-priced wines) didn’t put me off at all and actually added a little touch of spice that I enjoy.
