October 18, 2019 - Brown appearance. Aromas of very old Barolo, with wet wool, sausage water and terpentine. Thought it could be something like 40-50 years. Still rich and generous, though.

10/29/19, 4:04 PM - Just opened mine tonight (10 days after yours), and my bottle matches yours exactly. Brown, vague oxidized notes and seems very advanced for a ‘99. Not corked, and seal on cork seemed fine. Something is not right as this tastes like a not-great 40 year old Barolo. FWIW, my bottle was imported from Polanar Selections.

11/16/19, 8:10 AM - I actually don’t think it’s the wine, I think it’s problem with some bottles (whether a bottling issue or distribution chain (heat) issue). However I just opened my last bottle (intending to taste and pour out if it was ruined like the last one). It was purchased at the same me and place, stores by me since. However this bottle was pretty terrific, fresh and proper. Nothing earth shattering but very much what you’d expect from the wine, probably 93-points, and delightful and enjoyable. Not even any real bricking, let alone the brown wine I had a couple of weeks back....
