November 7, 2019 - Tasted over two days. This needs to breathe for several hours to show its best. Indeed, a 10 to 12 hour decant would do it no harm. Tasty and well rounded on the first day, yet generally closed. The half bottle we consumed on this day was essentially wasted, a fact established by the beauty it showed on the second.

On this day, the wine featured strong varietal typicity, including saturated blue, purple, and black berries, assorted meat roasting herbs, intense peppercorn, coal and mineral depth. Delightfully pretty. Medium plus to high acid and light yet effusive tannins provide firm structure and lift. The layers, range, and overarching harmony made for a spectacularly enjoyable experience.

Over the last fifteen months, the wine has turned somewhat reticent, shifting away from fruit forwardness. It now leans toward varietal expressiveness and the traditional elements of North Rhone Syrah. Delicious!

11/8/19, 4:37 PM - Thank you both. Chablis28, I would recommend opening one now, to get a baseline, and because I do not think this is a long haul wine. I think it will go to 2030...but afterwards seems questionable.
